As we continue building the Golden Helmet Collective, we want to keep you informed about major developments shaping the future of NIL across college sports.

The College Sports Commission (CSC) recently issued guidance that has denied dozens of NIL deals – many involving donor-backed collectives – citing vague “business purpose” standards. Legal experts have already pushed back, arguing the CSC has overstepped and violated the House v. NCAA settlement. In addition, Congress has introduced legislation that would enact much of the House framework into law, adding yet another layer of complexity to an already fast-moving landscape.

This is a pivotal moment. While there’s uncertainty, there’s also tremendous opportunity. We remain committed to navigating these changes thoughtfully – ensuring everything we do is compliant, sustainable, and impactful for Gopher student-athletes.
